We are excited to announce that FHS has hired a new head baseball coach. Please help us in welcoming Coach Colin York! Coach York will officially be introduced to our student athletes on Tuesday, October 27th at 3:00pm in the gym. Here is a short introduction from coach York.
I am honored to be named the new Head Baseball Coach for the Frederick High School Warriors. As I join the team, I wanted to tell you a little about myself. My family and I moved to Longmont around Thanksgiving of 2000, which started my tenure with the St. Vrain Valley School District. I spent my high school years getting a great education and playing baseball at Skyline High School. After graduating, I went to Southern New Hampshire University to further my education and passion for baseball. During college summers, I gained an appreciation and love for coaching the game of baseball. In 2013, I started coaching high school baseball, starting with a local club team called the Colorado Twins. This continued each summer until I graduated with a BS in Business Administration. After college graduation, I obtained a full-time position with the district in the Construction and Maintenance Department and was able to start coaching high school baseball during the spring season. I coached my first spring season as the Varsity Pitching Coach for Boulder High School. After the season ended, I transitioned to Niwot High School where I spent two seasons as Head Junior Varsity Coach before being promoted to the Varsity Baseball staff as the Pitching Coach.
During my time as player and coach, I’ve learned many valuable lessons from each and every coach that I have come across on my journey. As head coach for the Frederick Warrior Baseball Program, I’m excited to pass along many of those same valuable lessons to make each student athlete better, on and off the field. I’m excited to be a part of the Warrior Family and look forward to working with everyone. It’s a great day to be a Warrior!
