Frederick High School had three of it’s senior athletes commit to three different schools as they move forward with their academic and athletic careers after high school.
Anjelee Huerta (left), Kyle Lahr (center) and Francie Shaffer (right) each committed to play their respective sports in college. Signing was done at a ceremony held at FHS on Wednesday, April 12th. The event was attended by family, friends and coaches of the three athletes.
Anjelee will be attending Lamar Community College in Lamar, CO to play softball. The senior was a critical piece in the Warriors’ fall softball season, playing first base and was a threat at the plate in every appearance she had.
Kyle will be playing basketball for Wartburg College, a Division III school in Waverly, IA. Kyle transferred to FHS his senior year and made an immediate impact with his team, both on the court and off.
Francie has agreed to play volleyball for Plymouth State University in New Hampshire. Francie was a three-year varsity letter winner, as well as receiving Academic All-State honors her junior and senior seasons.
We are extremely proud of all of our athletes who have made the decision to continue their athletic careers in college. The commitment of time and energy that is takes to be successful in sports while being a full-time student is remarkable. Congratulations to these three Warriors, as well as all others that signed earlier in the year!
